In a project I recently worked on I created a dress out of unexpected materials and pinned the fabric to fit the model. With tips from Parsons Teen Vogue I tailored the dress to fit the model’s curves and measurements. This assignment taught me that when ordering or creating your final draft of an outfit or garment, you need to double check the measurements on a real life model. This is important because the garment needs to fit your demographic. The materials on my dress consist of stretchy cotton and polyester, newspaper, and plastic. The plastic sleeves give the garment an addition of a modern feel along with the dated newspaper. With the flared waist line it gives of vibes of a 1950s elegant woman. In its final state this garment could double as a raincoat, stylish dress and fashion statement.
