The New England Way of Life

Hydrangeas everywhere, riding in Jeeps with the windows down, and the freshest seafood you’ll ever have. Sounds great right? Well it is! Hopefully my travel advice will help you experience the best New England vacation ever!

The Best Beaches

Throughout New Hampshire some of the best beaches are off of the 1A highway. There is a great combination of small, quaint, and quiet beaches or larger beaches with more of an attraction to them, complete with surf shops and delis. The best beach to hang out, take walks along, and surf in is Jenness beach in Rye, New Hampshire. Leading up to the beach are rock walls to sit and sunbathe on, and beautiful colonial style beach houses to admire. Once you get to the beach parking can be a little tricky, because it is a free state beach the lots fill up quickly. But the public parking fees are worth a fun day at the beach.

The Best Restaurants

If you’re looking for amazing seafood, New England is the place to be! New Castle, Rye, Portsmouth, and North Hampton are all great places along the coast of New Hampshire to find classic seafood restaurants. But if you’re looking for a more sophisticated restaurant, check out Portland, Maine. It’s like a smaller, cleaner New York City. It is definitely worth the hour ride from NH. Go for a day trip and tour around the cute clothing and antique shops, or hop on a water trolley to see Maines famous light houses. But don’t forget to try Maine’s famous “lobsta”.

Best Place to Stay

Although it may be a little pricey, Wentworth by the Sea in New Castle, NH is a great place for couples, families or singles. If you’re an elite member of the Marriot, free breakfast, apps, and dessert are offered in the members lounge. But aside from that the colonial style hotel is equipped with a bar and restaurant, an indoor and outdoor pool and hot tub, tennis courts, basketball courts, and a marina. The rooms are beautiful and can easily fit a family of four. And the hotel is not far from any of the New England attractions.

I hope you enjoy your stay in New England! Don’t forget to tag Fashion and Poetry Junkie in your vacation photos!
